What Are the differences in regular images and the licensed images (premium)?
Most of the super cute images that you have access to with the subscription are considered generic. So different shapes for holidays, animals, templates, text, etc. Below are a few examples.
Licensed images are images that are owned by someone. A bigger company you may recognize is Disney. However, there are smaller companies/individuals that are influencers through Cricut that may publish images or fonts that they create themselves and want to charge a fee for.
So the average person would pay full price, where the premium member would get 50% off. This includes fonts as well. Below are a few examples of those.
Does The Cricut Access Subscription offer anything else?
Absolutely! So there are like thousands of ready to create projects! Most images and fonts used in those projects are included in your membership. Except for those licensed items we talked about previously.
The project section tells you exactly what you need to complete it. It will let you know if the project is free, paid, or included in Access. ANYONE can make these. It is so easy!! You literally pick a project and make one click and BOOM, you are at the cut screen. There is also an option to customize if you wanted to add or delete items.
How do you know if an image or font is included in the subscription?
When you open the image gallery you will see an icon at the top of the image (a small green “a”). If it is something that is not included and needs to be purchased, you will find that information on the bottom left.
If the image, project, or font has a price on the lower left corner, this indicates that it is NOT a part of the subscription, and your account would be charged prior to making the project.
On the lower right of every image, there is a small “I” icon. If you click on this it gives you information about the product such as the name and the design file number/link.
Not all images are made for cutting only, some are meant for print and cut projects. You will know that it is in print and cut format because there will be a small printer icon on the lower right, next to the information icon. To learn more about print and cut, visit this post.
To make this SUPER EASY to understand, I have made a FREE DOWNLOAD for you below that gives you a visual of the symbols used in the gallery. This is great to keep as a reference if you are just getting started.
Is it cheaper to have Cricut Access than to purchase items as needed?
YES! Depending on what type of objects you need for your creations you may pay the monthly subscription price for only one project! That’s insane if you ask me.
